Sullivan County
03:37
|
|||
Get lost between two bridges
Rest between the ancient trees
Paint the valiant stony ridges
Transcribe the tune of the breeze
Have a pleasant drink down in Lopez
Take a turn to fraud in LaPorte
If the security cameras are low-res
You can perjure yourself to the court
Sullivan county, a vast and unclear bounty
A maternal measure of my home
Luminous lens flare, a sculpture that you can’t bear
A pleasant glimpse into the deep unknown
Your footwear’s loyal against all odds
The tide is paid with its due shore
Glance into the rafters, the Eagle nods
An evening in Forksville couldn’t be anything more
Find the end of the world
As the Flying Dutchman calls
A dry run leads where the sun went
Overlook green events as an angel falls.
Sullivan county, a vast and unclear bounty
A maternal measure of my home
Luminous lens flare, a sculpture that you can’t bear
A pleasant glimpse into the deep unknown

There's a place for when the winter's cold
Where we'll feast and dance and we won't grow old
Where hate is void and your car always starts
We host the kindest, sternest hearts
Come on in, the water's fine
The ale is better if you're inclined
It's cool if you want it cool, and warm if your want it warm
And you'll never have to fret about the coming storm
Come to the place where it's fine to be
To a view you'll always like to see
Follow along and dance with me
We can live abundantly
Come on gentles join my band
Of the finest minstrels in the land
The food's exquisite and the music's grand
Come join the fellowship of mankind's friend
We don't ask much, just basic stuff
Love each other, that's quite enough
Come in the deaf, blind, dumb and lame,
You're welcome here, and everybody knows your name
Come to the place where it's fine to be
To a view you'll always like to see
Follow along and dance with me
We can live abundantly

Bakery Hermeneutics

The world’s less scary when the sun comes out
The echo’s loud when the layman shouts
I’m a great mass of life in an empty pool of tears
We aren’t gonna stay chained to the world’s solemn fears.

Find Eden
04:17
|
|||
One could find infinity in the wake of aimless stumbles
The map’s conspired to lose me, he cackles while Byzantium crumbles
A stream over stones, the ballad of a crying planet
The avian choir joins the insects, my eyes take beauty for granted
Disconnect and explore, clear the fog from your mirror
Away in deafening silence, see your intentions clearer
How does one conjugate an answer to the call
What words could contain the multitudes, a pure connection of all
A pebble as my companion, drops splash upon the leaves
Cool rain dries the tear stains of the one who still believes.
Disconnect and explore, clear the fog from your mirror
Away in deafening silence, see your intentions clearer
The village disappears if you don’t keep it in your sight
A serpent hides his spying eyes as a little bird takes flight
Off into the prism grand he stays his tiny wings
Writing to his parents assurance that he’s off to better things
Disconnect and explore, clear the fog from your mirror
Away in deafening silence, see your intentions clearer

This is a beautiful substance
That calms my mind and sharpens my wits
Perfect as it is, but wouldn’t be sweetened if not for the brits
Who’d ever think that hot water herbs and spices
And bits of fruit and such
When left to their own devices could provide mankind so much
Mrs. Bigelow nailed it.
She makes the finest leaf juice in the land
She get’s constant comments about it
And I’m sure she’ll gladly guide your hand
So maybe the bag breaks
Or the batch was steeped to long
Or maybe it was left out and got too cold
The beautiful tea did nothing wrong
We all have troubles behind us
Sometimes we taste a little off
Sometimes we have cinnamon floating around us
And we just can’t help but cough
It’s not the tea’s fault so imagine complexly
It’s the right thing to do
‘Cause we can’t always comprehend the kind of pain a pot of tea’s been through
I wouldn’t have it any other way
You’re a great cup of tea
You’re just the way that Mrs. Bigelow made you to be
We can reboil the water
Try loose tea and an infuser next time
We all have baggage (tea baggage) in our lives
And I promise it’s not a crime
You beautiful tea!
Tssss the kettle’s boiling over now
The kettle’s boiling over now
You beautiful tea.

Concerning the Lark
03:20

An ever-changing future taunts me with it’s existence
Not sure how to convey every worry I feel in this instance
I must confess I’m jealous of you little songbird
Oh to rest and sing and quest, and simply be assured
But don’t be concerned
I’ll keep my chin up
And my boots on the ground
‘Cause my bones aren’t hollow and my head can’t spin around
I’ll find where I’m headed soon enough
And I won’t be deterred if the road gets rough
I know your eyes are closed and you don’t yet have an opinion
But it matters more to me than wealth or mental dominion
My migratory magnet leads me closer to you daily
But I’ve only got my two feet and this ambiguous Odyssey
I’ll see you sometime
I’ll keep my chin up
And my boots on the ground
‘Cause my bones aren’t hollow and my head can’t spin around
I’ll find where I’m headed soon enough
And I won’t be deterred if the road gets rough
I’ll keep my eyes on my next step, though I wish the breeze could support me
I’ll wear a tired smile and embrace tinnitus when the Siren courts me
I know a nest is waiting for me, my aviary guide leads me on
There’s a vista saving itself for me, where the future’s the present and despair’ll be gone
I’ll keep my chin up
And my boots on the ground
‘Cause my bones aren’t hollow and my head can’t spin around
I’ll find where I’m headed soon enough
And I won’t be deterred if the road gets rough

Six Minutes
01:34
|
|||
Where are you going? I'll meet you there
It could be any place as long as I'm with you I don't care
I wouldn't disrupt your schedule, no! I wouldn't dare
I know you've only got six minutes to spare
Ask me anything, honey, and I'll do my part
I'll protect and defend you like my name's Paul Blart
I'll follow you wherever, just tell me where to start
I'll be waiting for you, just meet me in my heart
Six minutes is enough for me
We can dance and discuss philosophy
I'll learn a whole life's encyclopedic collection
from this joyful connection
If we only have six minutes to be,
I'd like to see you and me
Bladadadadadadow dot da dat da da da harmonica!

There used to be a mark on a page somewhere
That determined what troubles the world would bear
We can’t find out what point we missed
‘Cause it’s torn and smudged and it doesn’t exist
Now it’s a shame that a simple fact
Is a penny on the track of your train of thought
With a bond of stubbornness and zero tact
It’s hard to be a memory the world forgot
And Bronislawa, I won’t forget you
Here’s the credit that you’re long due
Changing light colors history told
Eventually every stone is gonna erode
Straws are constantly breaking backs
We’re all seeking cover from airborne attacks
Anything might be, or determine how we live
Who’s to say? The truth is relative
Now you’re an expert if you say you are
There’s a personal Utopia you plan to see
Turn on right, then to the second star
Sorry to illuminate your fantasy
And Bronislawa, I won’t forget you
Here’s the credit that you’re long due
Call an echo back to reality
We all just want some semblance of immortality

It’s unimaginably cold down here
And I can’t see
I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be
Where am I going?
Nowhere fast
Eternity’s begun and it isn’t gonna last
The pressure’s growing cause I won’t release
My foreboding force is glowing
Drawing me east
The face of fear has nothing If I can’t see at all
And if I reach the bottom
Then I can’t fall
So Sink down, beyond the blue
Into my reflection to start anew
Sink down
To the Darkest Light
Board the morning ferry, and rise into the night
The waves stop crashing
The membrane splits
Don’t know what I expected
But this wasn’t it
Can’t wrap my head around this grotto where I’ m lying down
Can’t quite reconcile the anthropological speed of sound
We’re only a story if we decide to be told
Melodic language weaves a tapestry worth more than the world’s gold
I’ll float back up someday but I’m not sure when
If vision still persists I’ll see you then
After I
Sink down, beyond the blue
Into my reflection to start anew
Sink down
To the Darkest Light
Board the morning ferry, and rise into the night

Shell of the Highwayman
04:00
|
|||
Where can I find you my darling?
In galleon tossed to the seas
Under watchful eye of the starling
The moon looks so hopeful through the trees
The highwayman rides toward the distance
His love reminds helpless in the inn
The deadly warning can't save the foul prince
Or the landlord who's lost in his sin
Should've been sleeping, but I don't mind much
'Cause where else could I go with all this noise in my brain?
What vessel forms her?
How can I tell her?
Show me the way to the will to refrain
The highwayman rides and he soars
Through the dunes and lesser moors
As the beautiful ship is dashed and strewn
Upon the rocky shores

A Long Since Wilted Rose
04:51
|
|||
Begone away, tortuous thoughts from my past
I can’t do anything about you
Regret, and reckless imagine, you bittersweet longing
Perverting joy and falsifying the true
Come share a drink with me, take any knowledge you’d like from my shelf
Come think diligently with me, I trust you more than I trust my self
I shouldn’t be lost in nostalgia, shouldn’t be a slave to what’s gone
Spend my moments in a way that pays interest, stay to witness yesterday’s dawn
There’s not much hope at all if I decide
Remember, remember
Hang on to hope of what tomorrow might bring
Remember, remember
Don’t forget the harmonies we used to sing
Come and see me where we met
Let me know all the places that you’ve been
I want to ruminate on every detail
But don’t give yourself away miss Magdelene
Don your rose-colored glasses, reflect upon the lost and our kin
When the monsters look smaller from a distance, crawl up the spout again
Eat, drink and sing my dear
Ease the pressure and rest on the moment
Take pivots to get where you’re going
Just pay attention to where all of your time went
Our vision ages in sweet deception over time.

Wine and Cheese
03:16
|
|||
When the snow is falling, and the air is chilled
Feel a still soft calling, to be asked and fulfilled
I have a sneaking suspicious there's no better place to be
Then caressed by a humble fire with a warm cup of tea
You're a glass of wine
I'm a plate of chess
I'm a heart to serve
You're a call to appease
You've got a blinding smile
I've got a pair of shades
I'm a fish out of water
You're a dolphin in the everglades
Won't soon forget the smell of bergamot
An impression in my mind in a Roman font
There's a peace to be found in this restful place
Constellations in your eyes and finely aged embrace
You're a glass of wine
I'm a plate of chess
I'm a heart to serve
You're a call to appease
You've got a blinding smile
I've got a pair of shades
I'm a fish out of water
You're a dolphin in the everglades
